It's the show that turned Albuquerque burlesque on its ear! What makes us different from the rest? From the earliest days of Gilded Cage, we knew we didn't want to be confined to just the art of the tease (though a lovely art it is!). We wanted to scintillate as many senses as possible in our audiences, and we knew the key to do it: variety! After searching the Southwest and beyond for quality acts, we are proud to include in our regular events acts such as fire eating, juggling, aerial fabrics, swordplay, glow poi, fire breathing, acrobatics, aerial chains, belly dance, contortion, lyra, fire poi and staff, and acrobalance. Blended with the finest Burlesque performers from the Southwest and beyond, our events are ever-changing, ever-growing, and ever-amazing! No show is ever the same twice.
Every event finds our host venue decorated to match the event, and there are treats, toys, and surprises around every corner. We encourage all of our performers to go outside of their comfort zones with themed shows, and our core artists are proud to create whole new acts for each Gilded cage event. Thanks for visiting the brand new webhome of Gilded Cage Burlesk & Varieté! Please allow me to introduce us. My name is Vivian MirAnn, and I'm the founder and executive producer of the Gilded Cage. We're a troupe and a guild of performers encompassing burlesque, sideshow, circus, and Vaudeville acts. We gather here in Albuquerque to put on one of New Mexico's biggest and best variety shows every six to eight weeks on our home stage at Low Spirits Bar & Stage. From classic striptease to the latest in Neo/Revival, our girls bring the best in burlesque to pair with top performers specializing in everything from sword swallowers to awe-inspiring geek shows, and from human blockheads to odds-defying knife jugglers. Joining in the mix are representatives of New Mexico's most talented Tribal Fusion and traditional belly dancers. Classic Vaudeville routines frequently mingle with comedic performances, and intermissions often feature the most incredible fire performers on our outdoor stage. Gilded Cage shows are constantly evolving, so you'll never know what you'll find at one of our events!
