Join master of ceremonies Professor Lucid Facade, a traveling absinthe elixir peddler of the highest caliber, as he introduces Northern Colorado to some of the region's most feisty, talented beauties ever to hit the stage.
Be prepared for the naughty professor to guide you through fantasy, temptation and glamor. Absinthe Menagerie incorporates audience participation, games with rewards and prizes, as well as variety acts, such as Poi dancers, comedians, jugglers, singers and more for a true vaudeville experience in the 21st century -- a traveling carnival catering exclusively to the Northern Colorado crowd.
The Northern Colorado area has never seen anything like this troupe; it's stimulating, tasteful entertainment for a discerning audience. Shows are exclusively for the 21-and-older crowd, as the confident and beautiful women of all shapes and sizes put the "tease" into striptease. (There will be no full nudity, but patrons are advised that women will be stripping down to pasties and panties.)

Join us for the inaugural year of the Gilded Cage's celebration of all things Burlesque, Sideshow, Vaudeville, and Circus during our first-ever weekender show. Our first year is off to a roaring start! Here's just a few of the amazing events that we have lined up for you...
Thursday, August 18...
Performers, staff, and friends will gather in the early evening to meet and greet at our host hotel, The Hotel Blue, for an evening nosh, some cocktails, and pool party. Swag bags will be distributed as performers check in for the weekend.
Friday, August 19...
Friday morning will be chock-full of classes for both performers and the public in the Conference Room at The Hotel Blue, conveniently located in the downtown area on historic Route 66. Class schedules are being organized through the first week of July, and will be posted on facebook, Gilded Cage's website, and at the new ABurlyQ website under construction now.
Burlesque Living Legend Satan's Angel kicks off the weekend party proper with an amazing night of stories, covering the early days of her career in the golden years of Burlesque. Angel shares her memories of days spent with Hollywood's elite movie stars, and nights with legendary crooners such as Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. She talks candidly about the golden days of burlesque, and the often tragic results of being an early gay artist in a time when being openly gay was a punishing experience, often quite literally. She'll chronicle her rise to fame, her crushing fall into obscurity, and her fiery return from memory into her current-day status as one of the world's most sought-after performers. This one-of-a-kind event will be open to 450 friends, fans, and performers, at one of Albuquerque's most fabulous bars, Exhale. If you haven't been to Exhale, you do not want to miss this incredible bar! Doors at 7, show at 8. Show tickets are just $15.00.
Following Satan's Angel, join us for "A Cosmic Carnivale" at Exhale Bar & Grill. Intergalactic wisecracker Dean Martian will guide you through a crazy night of dancing, burlesque, oddball performances, and a whole lot more into the wee hours of the morning. This show is sure to be a great way to get your blood pumping, as select stars take the stage between sets of the latest and greatest music by local favorite DJ Mello.

Classes are open to performers and the general public, with more info coming very soon.
Following this great afternoon of learning, The Really Big Show will kick off at The Sunshine Theater, an amazing 950 seat theater located on Central Avenue. Doors open at 8, and the show begins with live music from one of Albuquerque's most-beloved bands, Rockabilly greats "Slik 50"!At 9pm, the Gilded Cage will bring to Albuquerque audiences one of the biggest and brightest variety events in history! The Fire performers, Burlesque stars, Vaudevillians and more shall take the stage in an unforgettable carnival atmosphere unlike any other show in town. Also traveling in for this show is two of the gals from Colorado Springs' troupe "Peaks and Pasties", Lola Spitfire and Boop Scoops! January brought one of the best shows ever seen on a Santa Fe stage! Gilded Cage burlesque artists Vivian MirAnn and IntoxiKate were invited to perform alongside our closest collaborators, the lovely ladies of Zircus Erotique, as they played host to the legendary Queen of the Fire Tassels, Satan's Angel. The show sold out in a matter of minutes prior to the curtain being raised, with over 30 people on standby hoping to catch a glimpse of this stellar evening of entertainment. For those lucky enough to watch Angel in action, this will not be an evening soon forgotten!
